BEIJING - Fresh economic sanctions imposed by major Western countries against Russia are expected to further boost the country's trade with China, its largest trading partner, as the Kremlin seeks to stabilise its beat-up economy.

The restrictions may also lift China's ambitions of internationalising its currency.
