Trump, Clinton feud by tweet-storm over beauty queen
In an extraordinary clash that took an already bitter presidential contest down into the gutter, Donald Trump urged voters to check out an alleged “sex tape” of a former Miss Universe who backs Hillary Clinton, provoking the Democrat to fire back that he is “unhinged.”
In a pre-dawn tweet-storm of a sort guaranteed to grab attention, the Republican accused Clinton of helping Alicia Machado get US citizenship in order to exploit her during their presidential debate this week.
The Venezuela-born Machado, who claims the billionaire bullied her mercilessly after she won the Trump-owned beauty pageant in 1996, has since shot to public attention.
“Did Crooked Hillary help disgusting (check out sex tape and past) Alicia M become a U.S. citizen so she could use her in the debate?” Trump tweeted, kicking off a Twitter spat with his rival.

The scene, captured on camera and posted on the Internet, has gone viral in France.
In it, the man walks into the store in a shopping mall in Dijon, central-eastern France, and pounds the screens of Apple products with a heavy fist-sized metal ball used in petanque, a French bowling game.
Brad Pitt to have drug tests in deal with Angelina Jolie to see kids
Brad Pitt will undergo drug and alcohol tests as part of a temporary agreement with his estranged wife Angelina Jolie that will allow him to see their six children, two people familiar with the agreement said.
The temporary agreement, which will run until Oct 20, was the first breakthrough in the bitter split between the superstar couple since Jolie filed for divorce on Sept 20. The actress cited "the health of the family" and sought full physical custody of the children.
Pitt, 52, and Jolie, 41, both agreed to undergo individual counselling, and Pitt's initial visit with the children will take place with a therapist, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Golf: US blanks Europe in emotional Ryder Cup start
The United States whitewashed Europe 4-0 in Friday’s opening alternate shot foursomes session at the Ryder Cup, the first time in 41 years the Americans blanked their rivals to start the team golf showdown.
Not since a 1975 squad captained by Arnold Palmer, who died last Sunday at age 87, had the Americans dominated an opening session as they did at Hazeltine, never trailing to win two matches and coming from behind in two more with impressive late fightbacks.
“A dream start,” US captain Davis Love said of his players. “The guys have really come together."
