Five more US states vote in presidential primary race

Five more states including Louisiana and Kansas began voting Saturday in the hotly contested White House primary race, with Republican challengers like Marco Rubio desperate to cut into Donald Trump's lead.

The contests will provide the first test of whether the Republican establishment's desperate effort to end the inevitability of his drive to the party's nomination is having any effect among voters.

The brash billionaire is ahead in the all-important delegate count for the Republicans, having won 10 of the 15 states that have voted to date in the process that determines the nominees for both parties.

Stars join Murdoch, Hall at day-after wedding bash

Celebrities including Michael Caine turned out Saturday to help octogenarian media mogul Rupert Murdoch and model Jerry Hall celebrate their wedding at a storied London church.

A day after they got hitched in a civil ceremony, the pair were joined by media and entertainment figures including Live Aid guru Bob Geldof and Rebekah Brooks, the head of Murdoch's British publishing business.

Hall, wearing a light blue Vivienne Westwood dress and carrying a bouquet, arrived on the arm of her son James, one of four children she had with Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger.

'Ghostlike' octopus found in Pacific may belong to new species

An underwater research craft has spotted a "ghostlike" octopus that appears to belong to a previously unknown species on the ocean floor near Hawaii, a discovery that highlights how little is known about the deep sea, a US zoologist said on Saturday.

The milky white creature, nicknamed "Casper the Friendly Ghost" by Twitter users, was caught on cameras mounted on the craft as it explored the Pacific Ocean at a depth of 4,290m, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said.

Describing the animal as an incirrate octopod, one of two main groupings of octopods, NOAA said it was the first time an incirrate was spotted so deep in the ocean.

Cristiano Ronaldo silenced his critics with four goals in Real Madrid's 7-1 mauling of Celta Vigo on Saturday after being jeered by certain sections of the home support.

Ronaldo wheeled away in celebration with hand cupped to his ear after smashing home Madrid's second after Pepe had headed Zinedine Zidane's men in front before half-time.

The three-time World Player of the Year added three more to surpass Telmo Zarra as the second highest scorer in La Liga history.

Football: Arsenal and Tottenham fans involved in bloody clashes outside stadium before derby

Fans of English Premier League sides Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were involved in clashes outside White Hart Lane that left at least one bloodied before the North London derby on Saturday.

Pictures from Reuters showed one man with blood dripping down his face. Other images showed policemen on horses trying to break up groups of brawling men, some of whom were on the ground.

Videos posted on social media also showed scenes of chaos as the mounted policemen swung batons at people in crowds, while some in the mob lobbed projectiles.
