 1 dead, 20 injured after shooting incident at New Jersey arts festival 

At least 20 people were hurt early Sunday (June 16) in a shooting at an all-night arts festival in Trenton, the state capital of New Jersey, that also left one suspect dead, a local prosecutor said. 

“Multiple individuals opened fire” inside the festival venue shortly before 3am, Mercer County chief prosecutor Angelo Onofri told reporters. 

A 33-year-old man, one of the suspects, was killed, and another was taken into custody, he said. 


Woman yelling 'Allahu akbar' slashes two with blade in France

Two people were hurt in a town in southern France on Sunday (June 17) when a woman shouting "Allahu akbar" (God is greatest) attacked them in a supermarket with a boxcutter knife, prosecutors said.

A customer was struck in the chest during the late-morning assault in La Seyne-sur-Mer, outside the Mediterranean port of Toulon, but the wound is not life-threatening, prosecutor Bernard Marchal told AFP.

A woman working at a checkout counter was also cut over her eye. Both casualties were taken to hospital.


Trump lawyer calls for inquiry on Mueller's Russia probe 

Donald Trump's personal lawyer on Sunday (June 17) called for an investigation into special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe, claiming it was tainted from the outset under former FBI director James Comey.

"We want the Mueller probe to be investigated the way the Trump administration has been investigated," Rudy Giuliani said on CNN's State of the Union.

Giuliani's comments were the latest in a barrage of attacks on the probe by the president and his lawyers as Mueller appears to be nearing a conclusion to his investigation into possible collusion between Trump's campaign and Moscow.

Switzerland coach Vladimir Petkovic said his team deserved more recognition after they held five-times champions Brazil to a 1-1 draw in their opening World Cup match on Sunday (June 17). 

“I hope they start looking up and taking notice of us and taking us seriously,” said Petkovic, whose side held Spain to the same score in a warm-up friendly. 

“Sometimes, there is a lack of recognition and that is a pity.
