WASHINGTON - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Washington on Wednesday aims to shore up America’s commitment to backing Ukraine, at a time when long-term support from Congress and the American public may be wavering.

His surprise trip comes two weeks before the incoming Republican majority in the House of Representatives is sworn in.
