UN chief to attend event amid boycotts

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has accepted an invitation to attend the Beijing Winter Olympics in February next year, after the United States announced a diplomatic boycott and several other Western nations followed suit.
China warned Western nations on Thursday that they would "pay the price" for the diplomatic boycott of the Winter Olympics.
