Former United States president Donald Trump is facing his toughest legal troubles yet, with multiple analysts saying he will find the federal charges levelled against him hard to defend against.

Yet in the court of public opinion, these difficulties are barely apparent so far, a testament to the resilience of the popularity of Trump, who has been nicknamed “Teflon Don” for his apparent invincibility to political scandals and legal problems.
