WASHINGTON - For his first return to Washington since leaving office in 2020, former US president Donald Trump chose law and order as his theme for a major speech in front of a friendly audience at a think tank comprising mostly former senior officials from his administration.

The country is a "cesspool of crime", he said on Tuesday (July 26) .
