WASHINGTON - The final report of the House committee investigating the Jan 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol has recommended that Congress should consider barring former president Donald Trump from holding office again, among other proposals to protect America’s democracy from future attacks.

The full report, released late on Thursday night and 814 pages long, is a detailed account of efforts to overturn the 2020 election result. But it has no legal weight.
