Mr Donald Trump may have divided America, but his 10-year-old son has become an Internet darling for his valiant efforts to stay awake onstage during the President-elect's rambling victory speech on Election night.
Barron Trump, the only child of 70-year-old Mr Trump and his third wife Melania, rubbed his eyes and nodded off even as he tried to stand straight in the glare of the world's spotlight next to his father in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
As they debated the propects of a Trump presidency, bleary-eyed commentators agreed on one thing: give the boy a break.
"We feel your pain, Barron!" Mashable writes, alongside screenshots of the droopy-eyed young man.
"In Donald Trump's victory speech, when he said, 'We're going to dream of things for our country,' his son might have actually been dreaming," said USA Today.
Twitter user Joel Rubin quipped: "The only good thing in this speech is watching Barron Trump desperately try to stay awake."
There were not a few appeals to give the boy a Red Bull.
Twitter user Transviolet apparently spoke for many people who had stayed up until 3am watching the drama of a shock Trump win.
"We are all Barron Trump", tweeted Transviolet. It has been retweeted more than 7,000 times and liked more than 11,000 times.
The Telegraph noted that it wasn't the first time Mr Trump's youngest son has tried to stay awake while his dad addressed the nation.
Barron was photographed yawning in the audience seat during his dad's acceptance speech at the Republican convention in July, while his mum Melania looked on disapprovingly.
