- Republican US House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson on March 4 ordered Democratic lawmaker Al Green to be removed from the House chamber during

President Donald Trump’s address to Congress

.

Mr Green had violated decorum by standing during the speech, said Mr Johnson.

Mr Green was among Democrats yelling “boo” and heckling the President.

According to the BBC, Mr Johnson had told Mr Green to “take your seat”, before telling the sergeant at arms to “remove this gentleman from the chamber”.

Mr Green was then removed from the House floor, in an unprecedented move.

Mr Green, a Texas congressman, had in 2017 introduced articles to impeach Mr Trump for firing Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey, just a few months into Mr Trump’s first term. REUTERS
