NEW YORK (REUTERS) - Baby Ted Bradley crawled to the finish line and took home the gold, or rather, a Lucite trophy, in the ninth annual Diaper Derby in New York on Friday (June 29).

"You can't really argue with natural talent. It doesn't really come from either of us. This guy was just born with a gift for crawling really, really fast," said his mother, Lindsey Bradley, after Ted's big win.

The baby race, with five rounds of heats and one final crawl to the finish, kicked off the weekend festivities for the 2018 New York City Triathlon.

Around 30 babies competed in the race, billed as the "slowest two minutes in sports."
