Singaporean kidnapped in Thailand by fellow countryman, ransom paid in bitcoin

A Singaporean man was kidnapped by his compatriot in Thailand last week and released after transferring bitcoin worth some 1.4 million baht (S$62,400) to his captor, the police told The Straits Times yesterday.

The kidnapper has been arrested and most of the loot recovered.
