Racial and workplace discrimination continues to rear its ugly head in many parts of the world despite laws and growing awareness about both as a result of protest movements such as Black Lives Matter and #MeToo.

Studies have shown that despite legislation outlawing discrimination on the basis of sex, age, race, ethnicity, nationality, disability, mental illness or ability, and sexual orientation, incidents of prejudicial treatment continue to crop up, more so during the Covid-19 pandemic.
