WASHINGTON – The US and Israel are very close to an agreement on US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza, Axios reporter Barak Ravid said in a post on social media website X, citing a senior US official.
Mr Ravid said talks were held between special envoy Steve Witkoff, Mr Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on Sept 28.
The official he quoted added that Hamas, though, still needs to agree, he said.
Earlier in the day, Mr Trump said he hopes to finalise a Gaza peace plan proposal in a meeting on Sept 29 with Mr Netanyahu.
Reuters could not immediately verify the report. REUTERS
