ISTANBUL – An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 struck Turkey on Oct 9, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said.

The quake occurred at a depth of 10km, GFZ said.

The monitoring agency had initially pegged the quake at a magnitude of 5.33, but downgraded it within minutes, while retaining the depth. REUTERS
