SINGAPORE – Flying high and going green do not come cheap, and taking a plane is going to cost more.

The aviation industry is pinning its hopes on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) as the main climate solution, claiming up to 80 per cent emissions reductions. Yet SAF supplies are very limited, and it costs about three to five times more than conventional jet fuel.
