Vladimir Putin invites Kim Jong Un to visit Russia in September

MOSCOW (REUTERS) - Russian President Vladimir Putin asked North Korean official Kim Yong Nam at their meeting on Thursday (June 14) to pass an invitation to visit Russia in September to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Kim Yong Nam is head of the presidium of North Korea's Supreme People's Assembly.

Putin also said he welcomed the meeting between the North Korean leader and US President Donald Trump.

US President Donald Trump said North Korean leader Kim Jong Un gave his "unwavering commitment" to work towards denuclearisation during their summit. He noted that sanctions would not be lifted until complete denuclearisation happens.
