Three dead, 34 injured as car rams crowd in Austria's Graz

VIENNA (AFP) - Three people were killed and 34 were injured on Saturday when a "mentally unbalanced" man drove a 4x4 into a crowded pedestrian street in the southern Austrian city of Graz, a local official said.

Witnesses said the vehicle hurtled into one of the main pedestrian shopping streets of Graz, Austria's second city. The driver has been detained, governor Hermann Schuetzenhoefer said.
