KYIV, Ukraine – At the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Mr Mykola Zakhozhyi, a 37-year-old father of two young boys, jumped on his motorcycle and zoomed off from his house in the suburbs of Kyiv.
He told his wife he wanted to see what was going on with the Russian troops who had just invaded their area.
