Russian drone attack kills one, injures at least 14 in Ukraine’s Kharkiv

KYIV – Russian drones struck a military hospital, shopping centre, apartment blocks and other targets in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, late on March 29, killing one person and injuring at least 14, local officials and the military said.
“According to preliminary information, there were injuries among the servicemen undergoing treatment in the medical centre,” the military’s General Staff said on the Telegram messaging app.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov said an office building was also among the targets, with one drone triggering a fire. He said one person was believed to be under rubble.
Mr Terekhov put the overall number of injured at 19.
Mr Oleh Syniehubov, governor of Kharkiv region, said 14 people were hurt.
Kharkiv, in Ukraine’s north-east, resisted capture in the early weeks of Russia’s February 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
But as Russian forces have focused their attention on capturing large swathes of eastern Ukraine, the city has been a frequent target of air attacks. REUTERS
