French President Emmanuel Macron's government is facing its first serious political crisis after it lost its majority in Sunday's parliamentary elections.
Mr Macron's Ensemble - or Together - coalition will have only 246 seats in the new 577-seat National Assembly in Paris, well short of the 289 required for an overall majority and sharply down on the 308 seats Macron loyalists controlled in the outgoing French Parliament, whose term expires today.
