Just over a year ago, Europe's main airports were still rushing to expand capacity; Berlin, Paris, London, Frankfurt and Amsterdam were all planning new terminals and runways.
However, as the recent decision of the French government to cancel the construction of a new terminal at Paris' main airport indicates, the coronavirus pandemic has not only put a damper on such plans, but may also lead to a more fundamental rethink about the economic structure of air travel.
