German lawmakers are expected to approve a major defence spending package during a closed-door meeting on Nov 12.

BERLIN – Germany is set to approve defence equipment purchases worth more than US$3.47 billion (S$4.5 billion), including 20 light combat helicopters from Airbus, Bloomberg News reported on Nov 8, citing a government document.
The report said lawmakers were expected to approve a major defence spending package during a closed-door meeting on Nov 12, which also includes a roughly €1 billion (S$1.5 billion) deal with Hensoldt and Theon International for 100,000 night vision devices.
A spokesperson for the German defence ministry declined to comment on the report. BLOOMBERG
