German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who is currently chairing the European Union Council, European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen and European Council president Charles Michel will meet China's President Xi Jinping for a summit through video link today.
But expectations are low for any tangible outcome at the meeting following the disappointing visit by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to European capitals late last month.
