LONDON - British Prime Minister Theresa May has appealed to her ruling Conservative party to keep faith with her as a leader, and support her in the final stretch of negotiations for Britain's departure from the European Union.
Speaking at the conclusion of the Conservatives' annual conference in the English city of Birmingham, Mrs May warned her audience to stop squabbling about the terms of Brexit. "The people we serve are not interested in debates about the theory of Brexit - their livelihoods depend on making a success of it in practice", she added in a pointed rebuke to her critics.
