PARIS - Air France will resume its flights to Tel Aviv and Beirut on Aug 27 after a two-day halt following Israeli air strikes into Lebanon, the airline said.

The French carrier’s low-cost subsidiary Transavia will also resume services to both destinations, it said in a statement to AFP on Aug 26.

Air France had suspended its Aug 25 and 26 flights to Tel Aviv and Beirut because of heightened Middle East tensions.

Aug 27’s resumption of the services would be subject to an assessment of the security situation at both destinations, Air France said.

The French carrier, which usually runs a daily service to both cities, had already halted flights to Beirut between July 29 and Aug 15 but kept flying to Tel Aviv during that period.

German airline Lufthansa on Friday extended its Beirut flight suspension until the end of September and said it would not fly to Tel Aviv and the Iranian capital Tehran until Sept 2. AFP
