Russian President Vladimir Putin has every reason to feel satisfied with his latest visit to China.

At the

Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit held in the northern city of Tianjin,

the Russian leader was a star attraction, one moment holding hands with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the next minute embracing Chinese President Xi Jinping.
