ROME (AFP) - Three workers died in Turin city on Saturday (Dec 18) after a crane they were mounting toppled over into a street, injuring passers-by, Italian media reports said.
Photographs on the Twitter account of the official firefighters service showed a large blue crane lying across a road between two six-storey buildings.
Two people - one in the street and one in a car - were injured in the accident, the reports said.
"Yesterday there was a queue at the post office here and a few metres along is the bus stop. It could have been a massacre," one worker at the construction site was quoted as saying by ANSA news agency.
