MEXICO CITY - El Salvador's electoral authority on Monday confirmed that President Nayib Bukele's New Ideas party won 54 of 60 seats in Congress in elections earlier this month, after reported irregularities prompted a hand count of the vote.
The result gives Bukele's ruling party a supermajority in the country's single-chamber legislature. REUTERS
