Trust a dog to get into a multicoloured mischief – and reel in close to four million views on TikTok.
The video, posted by a veterinary technician who goes by @larenmciaren, shows what looks like a sprinkling of rainbow spraying out of the poor dog’s butt at an animal urgent care centre in the US.
It looked like the canine was pooping Skittles.
But what he was actually spewing out of his butt were Orbeez: water toys made from super-absorbent polymer that expand over a few hours from tiny, marshmallow-like beads to the size of a S$1 coin.
The dog apparently snacked on a bag of Orbeez, thinking they were treats, said the TikToker.
He started having a bad case of indigestion when the beads began expanding inside his stomach hours later.
His owner took him to Animal Urgent Care in Arvada, Colorado, where he was videoed ejecting beads that had not been hydrated enough yet inside his stomach.
Those that expanded to their full size and were stuck in his gut had to be surgically removed.
“Accidents happen and dogs are quick y’all!” the TikToker said. “He needed surgery to remove the rest, but he’s on the road to recovery.”
Those who saw the dog pooping the Orbeez out had their own colourful things to say.
“I’m telling my kids this is how Orbeez are made, so they stop asking for them,” Mr Mel Cavalier said on TikTok.
Tylena, also on TikTok, asked: “Does he do birthday parties?”
