Peruvian president Kuczynski resigns

LIMA (AFP) - Peru's Congress on Friday (March 23) accepted the resignation of president Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, clearing the way for Vice President Martin Vizcarra to be sworn in as his replacement.

"The resignation has been accepted," said Mr Luis Galarreta, the leader of the Congress, after a vote of 105-11 with four abstentions in favor of the move.
