Kylie Jenner challenge leaves US teenagers in pain

In 2014, there was an Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness of Lou Gehrig's Disease, and now there is the #kyliejennerchallenge, which has done nothing but injure young teenagers.

The #kyliejennerchallenge on Twitter involves cupping one's mouth with a shot glass or narrow vessel, and sucking in the air until the vacuum causes the lips to swell up - to emulate the pouty lips of Kylie Jenner, who appears in American TV series "Keeping Up with the Kardashians".

The 17-year-old reality television celebrity has been appearing on her social media accounts and on the red carpet with obviously fuller-looking lips, prompting teenagers in the United States to try and look like her.

US media sites have reported that the stunt have led to several developing bruises, inflammation, cuts, and other facial injuries.

Jenner acknowledged the Twitter phenomenon with a tweet that said: "I'm not here to try & encourage people/young girls to look like me or to think this is the way they should look. I want to encourage people/young girls like me to be YOURSELF & not be afraid to experiment w your look."
