SINGAPORE - M1 and Singtel customers will be able to enjoy free unlimited mobile data for local usage over the coming National Day long weekend.

The offer takes effect for M1's post and pre-paid mobile customers from midnight on Friday (Aug 7) and will end at 11.59pm on Aug 10.

M1 first announced the move, which also includes free voice calls and SMS/MMS messages, on June 1.

Singtel, meanwhile, is offering a host of freebies to celebrate SG50.

The telco's 2.2 million post-paid mobile customers will get free unlimited local mobile data starting Friday at 12.01am, Singtel said in a press release on July 15. Normal service resumes at midnight on Aug 11.

Its pre-paid customers will receive an additional 50 per cent in value for hi! card top-ups.

Those who subscribe to Singtel TV can also enjoy free viewing of more than 150 channels, including Discovery Channel, STARWorld and FOX Movie Premium, from Friday at 6am to Aug 10 at 11.59pm.

Singapore's third telco StarHub has already rolled out an SG50 free preview for its TV customers, who currently have unlimited access to over 150 channels.

The preview started on July 9 and will end at noon on Aug 11.
