SINGAPORE - Japanese electronics firm Sharp is making a re-entry into the Singapore smartphone market after two years of absence with two new smartphones slated for release at the end of this month.
Sharp is eyeing the mid-tier smartphone market here with its Z2 and MS1. The Z2 is priced at $399 while the MS1 will cost $299, with both offering high-end specs despite their affordable pricing.
The Z2 sports a deca-core processor, 4GB of system memory, and comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
The MS1, meanwhile, is branded as a lifestyle phone with 13-megapixel front and back cameras.
Both the Sharp Z2 and MS1 ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and have 5.5-inch full high-definition displays. They will be available from telco M1, selected Challenger stores and authorised resellers from Oct 29, with availability from other telcos to be announced later.
