PlayStation VR to be available in Singapore on Oct 13 for $599

HONG KONG - Sony's virtual reality headset, the PlayStation VR, will be released in Singapore on October 13 for $599.

The headset, which works with the PlayStation 4 console, will also launch with over 60 virtual reality game titles.

At a press conference in Hong Kong today (July 28), Mr Hiroyuki Oda, deputy president of Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia, said: "Since we unveiled PlayStation VR, we've received a tremendous response from gamers and developers."

The Singapore launch will coincide with launches in the United States, Japan and Europe. In the United States, the PlayStation VR will retail for US$399 (S$539).

Thirteen of the VR game titles are from Asian developers. They include Mortal Blitz VR (SKONEC Entertainment Co., Ltd) from Korea, Stifled (Gattai Games) from Singapore, and O! My Genesis (XPEC ENTERTAINMENT INC.) from Taiwan.

The PlayStation VR and PlayStation Camera bundle will also be available for $649. Pre-orders will be available at selected Sony Centres and authorised dealers from July 30.
