SINGAPORE - Dell has launched its new G Series gaming laptops for gamers on a budget.

Consisting of the Dell G3 15 and the Dell G7 15, these wallet-friendly notebooks come with the latest gaming hardware, such as Intel's eighth-generation processors and Nvidia's GeForce GTX 10-Series graphics cards.

Touted by Dell as its thinnest gaming laptop to date, the affordable G3 15 (available from $1,199) offers mid-range graphics performance with either an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 or GTX 1060 graphics chip. It comes with dual storage drives, with the option for a solid-state drive. Its sleek 22.7mm chassis has a matte finish and comes in three colours of black, blue and white.

The G7 15 (available from $1,699) ups the performance with options for an Intel six-core processor and an ultra-high-resolution 4K (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) display. Its chassis has a rear exhaust vent that keeps the heat away from gamers. It is available in black and white.

"We recognise the diversity of the gaming ecosystem and the evolving needs of the modern gamer. The new affordable G Series enables gamers of all levels to game at their best," said Mr Jarebb Chua, Dell's consumer country manager for Malaysia and Singapore.

Complementing these gaming laptops are a couple of accessories - the Alienware Wireless Gaming Headset AW988 and the Dell Visor. The AW988 gaming headset (from $361) is Alienware's first headset in almost a decade, as well as its first wireless model. Featuring built-in customisable LEDs and powered by 40mm drivers, the AW988 supports 7.1 virtual surround sound for better gaming immersion. Dell says that the headset's battery can last for up to 15 hours on a single charge if the LEDs turned off.

The Dell Visor ($830) is a Windows mixed-reality headset that works with virtual reality (VR) apps and games on compatible Windows 10 computers. It has built-in tracking cameras that do not require separate base stations like the VR headsets from Oculus and Vive. Its dual LCD screens offer a high resolution of 1,440 x 1,440 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. A pair of wireless controllers to allow movement in VR environments are included.
