Waterskiing: 16-year-old Mark Leong breaks national slalom record at Indonesia Open

Singapore waterskier Mark Leong set a new national record in the men's slalom event on Sunday en route to winning the Indonesia Open in West Bandung.

His final-round score of rounding three buoys on a 12m rope bettered his previous mark of one buoy on a rope of the same length, set at the 2014 Asian Beach Games.

Mark, 16, beat regional rivals from Indonesia and Thailand at the event. Indonesia's Indra Hardinata and Fath Daud Wangka finished second and third respectively.

The Singaporean will be competing in the same event when the SEA Games are held in Singapore from June 5-16.
