NEW YORK - Highlights of the sixth day at the U.S. Open at Flushing Meadows on Friday (times GMT):
2142 STRUFF OUTLASTS TIAFOE
German Jan-Lennard Struff knocked out American 17th seed Frances Tiafoe 6-4 6-3 7-6(7), clinching the match with a hard-fought tiebreak victory in the third set to reach the fourth round.
2057 SHELTON RETIRES INJURED AGAINST MANNARINO
American sixth seed Ben Shelton retired injured against unseeded Frenchman Adrian Mannarino with the pair locked at two sets all. Mannarino came back from a set down to level at 3-6 6-3 4-6 6-4 when the match was abandoned. The Frenchman will next face Czech Jiri Lehecka.

American fourth seed Jessica Pegula beat Victoria Azarenka 6-1 7-5.

Marketa Vondrousova defeated Italian seventh seed Jasmine Paolini 7-6(4) 6-1. The Czech 2023 Wimbledon champion will next take on Elena Rybakina.

Spanish second seed and former champion Carlos Alcaraz beat Italy's Luciano Darderi 6-2 6-4 6-0. He will next face Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech.
1611 RYBAKINA KNOCKS OUT RADUCANU
Ninth seed Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion, ruthlessly brushed aside 2021 U.S. Open winner Emma Raducanu 6-1 6-2 to reach the last 16 at Flushing Meadows for the first time.
