MADRID (AFP) - Canadian Eugenie Bouchard advanced at the Madrid Masters on Wednesday (May 10) when top seed Angelique Kerber retired with a lower back injury trailing 6-3, 5-0 in their third-round match.
Kerber will take over the world number one ranking next Monday as a result of earlier Madrid results.
The match lasted less than an hour.
