Singapore paddler Feng Tianwei was eliminated in the World Table Tennis Championships women's singles quarter-finals on Friday evening.

The world No. 4 lost 0-4 (5-11, 2-11, 9-11, 5-11) to China's unseeded and unranked Mu Zi in front of a vocal home crowd at the Suzhou International Expo Centre.

Mu, who defeated Japan's world No. 5 Kasumi Ishikawa in straight sets during their round of 16 clash, unsettled Feng with her offensive strategy and nimble footwork. She had Feng under control after racing to a 9-3 lead in the first game, and never looked back.

The tournament is not over yet for Feng, as she and national colleague Yu Mengyu still have the doubles semi-final on Sunday. They will play China's Liu Shiwen and Zhu Yuling for a spot in the final.
