SINGAPORE - The Singapore Swimming Association (SSA) elected two new executive committee members in their annual general meeting on Thursday.

Samson Tan beat incumbent Samuel Wong for the water polo vice-president post, garnering 18 of the 30 affiliates' votes.

Meanwhile, Wilson Ang beat incumbent Jerome Lau for assistant secretary-general post, after the latter pulled out following Wong's loss.

The two former national water polo players now join the SSA president Lee Kok Choy's eight-man team.

The exco also saw new treasurer Tan Yew Khuan and assistant secretary general Dr Bervyn Lee joining the team. They replaced former treasurer Sylvia Peh and the previous assistant secretary general Ang Peng Wee. Both Peh and Ang were unable to serve another two-year term as they reached the maximum service of eight years.

The other four positions in the exco were unchallenged. Lee remains president, Oon Jin Teik stays as secretary general while Joscelin Yeo will continue on as vice-president (swimming). Jose Raymond will also serve another two years as vice-president (finance).
