SINGAPORE - An embodiment of grit and determination, Roanne Ho has fought and conquered serious setbacks throughout her swimming career. But, having achieved a career high of an Asian Games silver last August, training and competition had become a mental grind.
With that burden in mind, she made her final plunge as a competitive swimmer last Saturday morning at the Singapore Swim Series at the OCBC Aquatic Centre, cruising to victory in the 50m breaststroke in a time of 31.50sec, almost five seconds ahead of runner-up Kathlyn Laiu (36.18).
