Singapore's women shooters third in 10m air pistol event again

SINGAPORE - The Republic's shooters had to settle for the SEA Games women's 10m air pistol team bronze again following a 1,121-point effort at the Safra Yishun Indoor Shooting Range on Sunday morning.

They were bested by Thailand (1,134 pts), who took the gold, and Malaysia (1,125pts).

Both Nicole Tan (376 pts) and teammate Teo Shun Xie (378) qualified for the individual final, after finishing sixth and fifth place respectively in the qualifiers.

Singapore's other representative, Teh Xiu Hong, an individual silver medallist in the 2013 in Myanmar, was 14th position out of 19 shooters this time round with a score of 367 points. She did not make the eight-woman final.

Singapore also claimed the team bronze in the last edition.
