SINGAPORE - Vietnam swept both women's individual fencing gold medals at the OCBC Arena Hall 2 on Thursday night.
Nguyen Thi Le Dung overcame Thailand's Sirawalai Starrat 15-5 in the women's individual sabre final. This is the Le Dung's fifth gold medal in as many SEA Games.
In the women's individual epee final, Thi Len Tran cruised to victory after beating Harlene Raguin from the Philippines 11-7.
However, the Vietnamese fencers failed to make a complete sweep of the golds on offer on Thursday, when Thailand's Nontapat Panchan beat Nguyen Minh Quang 15-11 to clinch gold in the men's individual foil event.
