SINGAPORE - In the second day of the SEA Games judo competition, the only Singaporean to reach a final on Sunday was Gabriel Yang but he faltered at the gold medal hurdle.

At the Singapore Expo Hall 2, Yang, who competes in the 81-90kg category, was defeated in the final by Indonesia's Horas Manurung by ippon and had to settle for silver.

The day began well for Yang as he defeated Kenji Yahata in the quarter-finals and in the last four, he narrowly eliminated Malaysia's Abdul Rashid Ahmad Zikri by one yuko.

Timothy Loh, the 2013 SEA Games bronze medallist, finished third again in the 90-100kg category after defeating Khamsay Vongphachanh when the Laotian committed a shido.

Singapore's SEA Games debutant Tania Forichon also won a bronze medal in the 57-63kg category after defeating Vietnam's Nguyen Thi Huong by ippon in just 21 seconds.
