SEA Games: Logistics centre opens to manage equipment and attire at the Games

The Singapore South-east Asia Games Organising Committee (Singsoc) unveiled on Tuesday afternoon the logistics nerve centre of June's SEA Games, the Singsoc Logistics Centre (SLC), located at homegrown logistics provider CWT's Tanjong Penjuru headquarters.

The SLC will house 11,000 pellets worth of equipment over a 12-month period. Items range from competition equipment such as table tennis tables and balls, to official attire for volunteers, which will be used during June's Singapore SEA Games.

Said SINGSOC exco chairman Lim Teck Yin: "Seeing a warehouse full of equipment... it brings a sense of assurance that things are on track.

"The SLC is the backbone of the Games' operations. We set out from the start to ensure that the execution of the logistic aspects of the Games is done in an efficient and secure manner. This would not be possible if not for CWT."

CWT's chief executive officer, Defence Services, Brigadier General (NS) Ishak Ismail said: "We'd like to assure Singsoc exco that we can be trusted to do this job. As a homegrown company it's a special moment for us to be part of this event, a national event, and to provide the logistical support for it."
