Sailing: YOG gold medallist Bernie Chin named Sailor of the Year

SINGAPORE - Youth Olympic Games gold medallist Bernie Chin was awarded with the Sailor of the Year honours at the Singapore Sailing Federation Annual Awards at the Swissotel Merchant Court last night.

The 15-year-old received the award from Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, the guest-of-honour of the award ceremony.

Other major winners include: Finian Lee (Most Improved Sailor of the Year), Jodie Lai (Rookie of the Year), Jackson Ho (Coach of the Year) and Team Red Dot comprising Maximilian Soh, Christopher Lim, Russell Kan, Justin Wong, Andrew Paul Chan (Team of the Year).

There was more good news for Bernie, as he was named as part of the Singapore sailing squad for June's SEA Games.
