Toyota's Kalle Rovanpera was heading for his first home win after ending the penultimate day of Rally Finland on Saturday with a lead of 44.2 seconds over French teammate Sebastien Ogier.

The double world champion won five of the day's six stages to build a comfortable lead, with Hyundai's championship leader Thierry Neuville a further 39.6 seconds behind eight-times champion Ogier.

Toyota's Elfyn Evans, last year's winner who had been second overnight, lost almost six minutes with a broken driveshaft and dropped down the order.

"In the morning there was a good fight and we kept pushing today," said Rovanpera, who crashed out of the event last year while leading.

"We did some quite strong times without taking any huge risks, so that is quite positive."
