Grey gelding Ziggurat (Jo Jae-ro) finishing the best on the outside to win the Listed Ilgan Sports Trophy (1,800m) in Seoul on Sept 28, 2025. The Kim Jung-cheol-trained galloper boasts a decent record and is a bright prospect in the Class 1 (1,400m) in Seoul on Aug 30.

RACE 1 (1,400M)
(1) ECO BOLT ran an on-pace second at long odds on debut over 1,200m on July 19, beating three of these rivals in the process. He will be much shorter this time.
(3) TONGKWAEHANSEUNGJA did not do much on debut but ran a better second at start two over 1,000m on Aug 8. Third-up fit and step-up in trip can suit.
(6) MYEONG POWERFUL also beat a couple of these on his debut at 1,000m on July 26. He should have come on for the run.
(5) LEGEND MONSTER and (8) GOLD X, a good fourth behind the excellent Clutch Derby on debut, are others in the frame.
RACE 2 (1,300M)
(1) BEOLGYO SIGNATURE ran a fair fourth of 11 over this distance on July 19 on debut. He has every chance in this company.
(10) JEJU PRINCESS picked up when fourth over 1,400m on July 11t. Luis Martinez knows her well and stays aboard.
(5) DYNAMIC FORCE does have a second on his resume. That is enough to see him go close.
(11) GOLDEN WARRIOR has not built on a third four starts back but has not been far away and can be given another chance.
RACE 3 (1,800M)
(5) GLOBAL PRINCE was an also-ran in the Korean Derby in May and a beaten favourite in easier company on June 14. He did win at this class and distance.
(3) DUDUNG was a smart winner at this class over a mile on July 17. Rise of 3.5kg in weight and two turns should not be a problem.
(4) EUNSEONG YEONGUNG comes in off back-to-back thirds at this class and distance. Should be there or thereabouts again.
(2) OASIS ADELE is up in class following a maiden scored over 1,400m on July 26. He carries a light weight and has already placed over this trip.
RACE 4 (1,800M)
(9) LUCKY JOY is the one to beat here. His win came over 1,700m and he ran second on his only previous try at 1,800. Solid claims.
(2) CLUB MAN comes up in class following a maiden win over 1,700m on Aug 9 when handy throughout. No reason why he cannot handle an extra 100m.
(1) KARA K is yet to score in 14 tries but has often run a place. Ran fifth to Lucky Joy’s fourth on July 26. She will go close again.
(7) CHOEGO BELT and (10) CHRYSOL STEP have chances.
RACE 5 (1,200M)
(2) VICTORY CHAMP is a debutant and led to run a close second at his trial in quick time. On that form, he will be hard to beat.
(8) DAESEONG SKY was also second in his trial. Seo Seung-un aboard is a good pointer.
(6) DANALDA ran a close third on debut over 1,200m on July 17. Keep safe.
(3) HIT THE RUNNING and (10) MR. SUNSHINE were fourth and fifth in the same race and both also showed enough to suggest they can improve.
RACE 6 (1,300M)
(10) DAEBI MAMA was well back in the Gyeonggi Governor’s Cup over 2,000m in June. Won in easier company over 1,400m on July 18. She can win again.
(8) HAKSAN WINNER broke through two starts back leading all the way and then ran a solid fourth on her first try at this class and distance on June 28. Every chance.
(7) LUCKY DAY has a third and a fourth from her latest two, both at this class and from off the pace. She will challenge late.
(2) COWBOY SOCKS and (1) SEONGSIL WINNER have claims.
RACE 7 (1,300M)
(11) INFINITE WINNER trialled first back this time in 2025 behind Daeseong Gold, who has gone on to win plenty. She won a heat just a week ago and can win first-up.
(9) RUBY GONGJU has made steady progress across three outings so far, culminating in fourth place over 1,200m on July 26, beating two of these rivals.
(1) BLUE TREE was a trial winner on July 16, showing on pace throughout and can be interesting first-up while (8) WORLD VICS CAT was less impressive in her heat but did not do much wrong.
(5) GLADY MORE ran sixth on debut in July. Chance.
RACE 8 (1,400M)
(6) STUNNING SKET remains a maiden but is up in class following a second and two thirds. Under a light weight and up in trip, he can make the breakthrough.
(7) BEST JOY got his maiden win over this trip in May and ran second at this class on July 26. He carries weight but will go close.
(11) LAVITA stepped up to this trip and broke through at start number six on July 25. She is up in class but down in weight and she can be competitive in this company.
(2) BEST FREEDOM and (4) LOVERMAN are in the hunt in an open race.
RACE 9 (1,300M)
(3) GLOBAL HEROINE beat two of these in a similar race at this class and trip on Aug 14. Big say.
(4) TAEYANGUIYEOLJEONG is a non-winner too but has often finished in the money. If she sits handy, she can win.
(2) BACK TO THE DREAM does have winning experience despite two below-par efforts in her latest outings, Seo is on for the first time.
(5) JJAK SARANG and (1) DOCTOR MATTERS are the others to consider.
RACE 10 (1,800M)
(9) PASA SPARK won back-to-back races at 1,800m and 1,700m in May and June, before a second on July 26. This is winnable.
(7) MUJEOK HAMDAE returned after four months to win at this class and distance on Aug 9. He can strip fitter. Decent chance.
(8) PURPLE SHINHWA won at odds over this trip on Aug 8, Tougher, but he can still have a say.
(5) THE EXCELLENT and (1) FIVE STAR are others in the hunt.
RACE 11 (1,600M)
(8) KING BLACK got his maiden win over this trip in May, has since run fifth and second in two tries at this level. The one to beat.
(5) MAGIC SHOW is yet to win in 13 starts, but he has 10 top four finishes and has been runner-up in each of his last four outings.
(6) BORYEONG THE QUEEN is up in class after an emphatic maiden win over 1,400m on July 12 and while she is up in trip too, there can be more to come.
(2) DORAON SAMSON and (10) CHOEGANG LOUIS are among plenty of others with chances.
RACE 12 (1,700M)
(10) JD GANGJA has only raced three times in 2026. He has a third and a second from two tries at this class, at 1,400m and a mile and both times he got sent back to trials for laying out. The step-up to two turns may be what he needs, and he evidently has an abundance of quality.
(6) HYEUKMUSANG comes in having won both his latest two starts, most recently at this class and distance on July 25 when handy throughout. He is up 3kg in weight but should not to be dismissed.
(8) FLYING HONOR was second in that July 25 race, just a ½-length away. He benefits from a weight swing and can continue to make progress.
(5) GEUMA FOREMOST and (9) AMOS CHEONHA are others in the hunt.
RACE 13 (1,800M)
(4) DAESEONG GOLD won three on the spin between February and April and returns here for the first time since he was an on-pace second at this class over a mile in May. Can score on his first try at 1,800m.
(3) AIR CITY ran third behind Beolgyo Masulsa and Nice Buddy in a valuable Trophy race in April and has since run third and second at Class 4 level with all three of those outings over a mile. Threat even if he is up in class.
(5) ANN BUNNY does not get a weight break even if she is up in class, but will be competitive again.
(9) STEALTH MODE and (6) GUKDAE STAR are among plenty of others in the frame.
RACE 14 (1,800M)
(1) GWANAKSAN SKY was an also-ran in the Korea Derby in May, then got into an early speed duel when sent off as favourite at this class and distance on July 26, coming home in 7th place. He should lead again and can win.
(2) GHOST CHRYSOL has won just once in 15 starts but he also has seven seconds, including his latest two, both at this class and distance. He can challenge late.
(7) BREEDO CALEY is up in class following a good win over 1,400m on June 27. He has previously won over this distance too and coming down 3kg in weight, he can be competitive.
(3) TAEGISAN KING and (5) SHINING ROAD are the other main contenders.
RACE 15 (1,400M)
(10) GEUMA ADEPT was an all-the-way winner over this distance on July 26, taking his record to four from nine. He comes up in class here but the manner of that emphatic score suggests there can be more to come.
(5) TWIN RAINBOW has been a real form-mixer of late, but she comes up in class after a strong win over a mile on June 26. She has won over this distance too and she should be on pace again.
(9) DRAGON NINJA beat Geuma Adept when the pair came home first and second over this distance at Class 3 level in June, when giving his rival a full 5kg. This is his first start since and he carries his fair share of weight again, but he can be challenging again.
(1) WONDERFUL JONES and (4) MAGARITA are others in line for the minors.
RACE 16 (1,400M)
(5) ZIGGURAT is a model of consistency who does not quite have the win record that he deserves. He ran third in Listed company in February and has since picked up a second and two thirds, most recently when beating a couple of these rivals over 1,200m on Aug 9. Three of his wins have come at this distance.
(11) VICS GO beat Ziggurat in March when giving him 1.5kg. Has held his form since and while he has 59kg, he can be a danger late.
(6) SUPER FINISH placed in the Korea Sprint in 2025 but races for the first time since finishing down the field over 1,200m in March. Back in work since late July and won a trial on Aug 13.
(4) I’M JJANG and (7) SOMETHING LOST have claims.
RACE 17 (1,200M)
(5) HERO CHEETAH is a winner of three from five, including both his latest two, most recently at this class and distance on July 26 when he had three of these rivals behind him. He can repeat.
(8) BONGHWA STAY and (7) DREAM HONOUR came home third and fourth respectively in that July 26 race. Neither win out of turn but both get a weight swing with Hero Cheetah and can get closer to him this time around.
(4) MOVING VOLCANO was second at this class and trip two starts back before a fourth over 1,400m on July 12. Both his wins have come over this trip, and he can be back in the mix. (3) FINAL GO is the other main chance.
